Thanks so much for the memories and playing an invaluable role in my life. There was once a friend who told me that secondary school friends are gon be the ones who will stick with you for the rest of your life and secondary school times are gon be the times you miss the most. I never believed, but I think now I do. All that we've went through together are not necessarily easy. But..we've been through them all together! Everybody all for one. :)

I just want to tell you guys, chin up! Brace up! We've been through tougher storms than this yeah..

smile ppl..2dae is e last dae of sch n its jus sooo emo:( when e ppt slides wif e pics were shown, some ppl started to cry.den when mr lau toked, more ppl cried!i noe its reali hard to accept it but hmm.we jus couldnt control it n cried..many tings happened tis 2 yrs n i reali grew a lot in e class..i learnt many valuable lessons:) seeing evryone cryin n of course u wld feel sth.many tings went thru my mind..i could still rmb evrythin since sec one..i could rmb e sec one orientation when we all dunno each other well den..plaed some games n we began to interact n made frens:) but dats when other classes started their nonsense..den it was e sec one camp n e other classes did all e saboing n stuff n made e gals cry..but we learnt to b stronger n it actualli helped us to b more bonded!e yr den came to an end wif mrs gn leavin us n den its chalet..thou nt many came but still had fun:D
n tis yr mr lau became our form tr..we bonded reali well n evryone became even closer n den its e sec 2 camp..we had lotsa fun n i wld rmb it! hmm n as mths pass, e eoy exams were here n we all studied 2gether..helped one another wif e work n finally it was over!:D we celebrated 2gether when e results were out, we congratulate one another n also comforted those whose results were nt of deir satisfactory..n den it finally came to tis dae..e v last dae..when i tot of all dese tings,tears jus flowed dwn..n even when e rest told mi nt to cry n consoled one another, i could reali feel e strong friendship love which im so gonna miss it!

stuff you need to bring along for the upcoming chalet:
sleeping clothes
3 sets of clothes
toiletaries (toothbrush&paste, shampoo, conditioner? facesoap, bodysoap)
girls you can bring your bikinis/tankinis with a tank top over or just a normal swimsuit
guys better to bring surf shorts with trunks under yeah. =/ LOL
towel
handphone, mp3ss and amps if you have!
jacket? (ivan might snatch blanket then at night sure super cold. hahah!)
water bottle
personal medication if needed
slippers (no need shoes but if you do wear them please bring an extra pair of slippers too!)

so this is roughly how much each of you should bring to sentosa on top of the basic 13dollars paid to stella.

$3 for transportation into sentosa (via sentosa bus or sentosa express which is also some sort of mrt thingy. lol)

hmm, heard some of you guys out there say that 13dollars for the upcoming class chalet is expensive?

we list out all the costs here alright! (:
chaletbooking: $280
bbqfood: $190
classfunds: $60
TOTAL: 280+190-60=$410

13dollars is inclusive of a place for you to sleep for 2nights (2chalets!) , second night's bbq , supper&snacks. so 13dollars should be relativeley cheap rightxzxzx peeeps. lol. example last year class chalet was about 10dollars for 1night (1chalet!) , with mrs gn subsidizing 50dollars. add on the east coast bbq cost 8dollars 18dollars in total for 1 night of bbq, 1 night of chalet the upcoming chalet is held at sentosa, 2nights, with 2chalets, 2bbq pits and a BBQ on the second day. its gonna be much more awesome with more rooms, more bonding time, a bbq during the chalet! and the beach is freeeeeeee! yeah, hope all of you out there can make it. =DD

Hello all. The most lovable blog manager (?) aka umbrella is here to updatzz the blog. Prolly make a new skin soon. No promise though. Those very free beings whom frequent the tag, maybe you'd like to post instead! Lol.

Anyway, it's a very sad thing that the school term is coming to an end & that we're no longer gon be in the same class. Will miss all of your chattering/making fun of bulldog (though it's really mean but it's super funny!) and this class of ZOO! We have a chicken (hint: see tagboard), a platypus (psyduck!), doggie, umbrella (to shelter the animals, sounds so wrong), baby kangaroo, fly, monkey, sotong, etc, etc..hahah. Yeah, we're the center of attraction. Like "whatever", I know. Enjoyed the 2 years though.. Bet everyone did! :D Except Mr lau, for a year only. Hee.

Class Chalet
Really sorz for the lack of update on class chalet. Next update will be by Tues (16/10). Dates may change because we booked on the wrong dates (31Oct-2Nov) but likely to change to the 31Oct-2Nov. Sorry again. Venue's still the same, at sentosa. Apparently I heard that the guys would prefer Downtown but sorz yeah cause we concluded that Downtown has nth much and that we've been around that vicinity last year. If it's about the entrance fee, be rest assured that I'll keep the chalet cost down to the lowest possible. That means more people = pay lesser. But more squeezy. The chalet stayover cost paid to us includes BBQ for the first night, all your tidbits supplies & instant noodles for supper. Travelling around Sentosa by the sentosa bus is free of charge. Monorails wise, you might want to purchase a day's use on the 2nd day (as it would be the longest day) Heee. For other attractions, (cost wise) maybe you'd like to check: Http://sentosa.com.sg

Costa Sands Resort (Sentosa)
1 Kampong Hut & 2 Superior Chalets
2 Bbq pits booked on 1st Nov.
Total cost: $290
Price per pax: TBC after end of years. Most probably, free giving.
Stuffs at your own expense: Entrance fee ($3), getting around (usage of trams, etc. Buses are FOC), 4DMagix, Luge, Skyride, etc. I have the sentosa islander card tho, so there's discount for the places of interest and blah:D
Stuffs we need (you all to bring if you have): Vball, food for bbq.

And so it happened...
The clash of the Titans.

Teachers versus students- time to put up or shut up. Time to prove who are the greater individuals- the better competitors...(Teachers lah!)

It happened innocently enough- Mr Mark Chua approached me to play either soccer or floor ball... (of course i was going to choose floorball- I hate running on the soccer pitch, i hate running after one ball with some 21 other guys...and get the chance to get my legs tackled from under me)
But the chance to run after an even smaller ball... and to whack some other person's legs with a giant stick- all in the name of sport...how could i refuse! And there i went hapily thinking about paralyzing some smart mouthed KCPian who dared to yell "you Suck!"...'whack'...oh so sorry...i didnt see you there... Loser! wahaha...

The reality was... i was too busy with the progress report card to care at that moment. I found out- soccer and floorball was being replaced by netball... -_-"

Well- no offence to the netballers...they are great. But which teacher was going to have any experience in netball... which male teachers even knew how to play netball? Its captains ball...without the contact, speed and basketball without the dribbling and backboard for shooting. We were lost!

But i was too busy with the marks generation that by the time

I knew we were in trouble. By the time i was done with the work- the 1st quarter was already complete. By the time i was done with luch- at 330pm- the 1st half ws already complete. Cassy was happily saying- "Mr Lau, you cant play- you are in jeans!" hmph... obviously she didnt see my skinny hairy legs yet! ewww ewww ewww

And so i changed... entered the game at the score of 6-2 ( students 6...teachers 2)
The teachers looked depressed...they were running all over the place- but 4 problems. They couldnt score (didnt know how to), had no technique or strategy (no experience in game) and couldnt prevent the netballers from scoring (Liyana was ridiculously good) and they were running out of steam (no regular exercise)...

And so i came in, replacing Miss Debbie Wong. Less than 10 minutes after eating lunch (big mistake no.1) and started running cold without warmup or stretching (big mistake no.2)

Running alone like a headless chicken was a rather silly idea. I could catch the ball...stick out my tongue at Huaiying...but we couldnt score. Was i supposed to let my 2 Faith girls torment me all the rest of their school years! No... nonononononono......... ("o)

The solution was quite simple. Liyana never even bothered to step out of position. She just took the highballs and shot from her favourite position. If we crowded the midfield...pressured the students...(by asking them how well prepared they were for their EOY) and all i needed to do was defend and mark Liyana- their shot maker. Move to midfield to crowd the numbers- Then Sean with his height would eventually get the chance to score. He does know how to play basketball after all.

And so it did- once i neautralized Liyana- and oh how she complained. Sean's scoring took effect. We slowly clawed back to a 9-9 tie.
But credit to the netball girls, you made us run like crazy. We had no clue how to handle this game of yours. And we still dont know the rules- something abt cant hold ball too long? 3 foot rule???

Well... the truth is you girls depended too much on Liyana- we just got smarter and you controlled the game- but you ladies got pressuered and lost confidence. Fight on...

Oh- and if we had rested. Realistically- you girls wouldnt stand a chance in Captains ball. You wont have the height...all we need to do is post Sean as blocker and he can cancel out all your shot attempts. My speed in midfield will mean i can intercept or snatch the ball away from you. (Captains ball allows for snatching and contact) Mr Bjorn Lim has the height to handle high balls, Mr Patrick Goh can run along flanks cos he plays soccer. And if Mr Tony Lai or Mr Mark Chua joined in.... ahahahaha

But Seriously.

And to the netball girls...You Rock! i seriously dont wanna play netball again.
We consider the round given to you. We had guys after all.

Tennis or Table tennis anyone?

Part 2. Floorball.

A whole new group of students came in this time. Same group of teachers- Mr Sean sat this one out. Mr Bjorn Lim came in.

Seriously. Never played the game. But was loving the big stick... too bad it was plastic (imagine the damage...errmmmm...i mean luckily it was plastic) Yes yes...i heard the Father's day comment. I almost wanted to quit cos of that!

I got to play against Xueni. She looked so cute.... face all red! And Michelle..she was so serious. And never even once went Ahhhhhh...(she screams everytime she sees me close in class- says i sneak up on her or something)

Easy enough.
Speed and with sticks. We didnt have the technique or experience. But it was so much easier and more comfortable. Cos the sticks did the work for us. Just get it in between the students stick and you cancel out their shot. And a lot of the marking strategies were like soccer. Crowd the midfield. Send our attackers to take shots. Just need one person on defense.

It worked cos in the first half we had the students practically stuck in their own half- they hardly managed to even move forward. And i heard Cassy and the screams- brainfreeze- and even being called Idiot...sheesh the insults.

So to answer back. I crossed on the left side, Called for Mr Patrick Goh to pass the corner shot to me. And whacked in the 1st goal. Neber eber (never ever...getit?) taunt and Art teacher...we get artistically depressed and will whip yr asses! woohoo

But after that it was just attempts and attempts at shots. Its not easy to score. The students managed one very good attempt thou. Our Goalie tipped it over.

But during the rest period- the teachers were dying. Mr Tony Tan came in. We played 2 consecutives sport- the students were fresher. I wondered how we can keep up. Mr Lai mentioned something when we played netball- "This girls are proffessional atheletes, this is their CCA, they have the experience- we teachers are just ordinary people with much older bodies trying to play their game) So respects to all my fellow colleagues.

Once Mr Lai came in- there was no contest. He had the ball sense, i even could stop attacking and just concentrate on midfield and flank work, to protect the defense (Mr Bjorn Lim) and cancel out the attacks from the boys. Rush in and interfere with their stick play. It saved a lot of energy on running about. Sure enough- Mr Lai got a solo attempt in. 2-0 teachers up.

I managed 2 more shots at goal. Both not as close as i would like.

In the end: 2-0 (teachers won-woot)
Students jeered and protested. Next year lah!

and i limped off.
Oh and the cost.
MC on Tuesday. I pulled my muscles on my back in twisting too fast and whipping all the shots in- my legs are crazyily aching cos i am not a runner thou i have some speed. I just do gym, dance- or tennis/ table tennis as a sport. Those require no running up and down a field of play- Tennis is largely a lateral game and i tend to make the opposing player run.

So there.

The cost- 1 injured Art teacher.
I wonder if the challenge trophy can hold slurpee??? Apple and coke mix please!

And Joey- i am not spoilt- i spoil 2 Faith too much. hmph...

Off i go to see the doctor.
And to the deep heat muscle rub...seems like nice weather to sleep...dont ya think?

Weird title... this much i am willing to admit.
i guess its not just the admitted weirdness, the peculiarities of my behaviour that i am willing to admit.

Its like watching a memory passing right in front of you, a dream you just cant touch. You people are my life at the moment, my life of a distant 14 year old past and the future that i look forward to.

But i the midst of the crowded voices- the screaming - "Mr Lau, i need your help", that wakes me up" I am not a student anymore- i am on the other side. I am so much older- not much wiser- and i still slurp to great effect.

The icy cool chill- of chipped ice, apple sweetness and zing of coke... Slurpee.

And i smile.

chalet confirmations

we're going to have our chalet at..SENTOSA!hope u guys are excited.please do not stop going for the chalet just because it's at sentosa.well,the reasons of y we chose sentosa over downtown east are:
-downtown east is way too small for us to carry out activities,including sleeping,unless u all want to pile on each other.
-sentosa is way bigger and we can have more activities carried out there n there r more things to do there
-downtown east,though it has wild wild wet n escape,i can gurrantee u people this,that u WON'T be able to go to escape or wild wild wet unless u go there at like 2 a.m in the morning as there're night activities
-sentosa's chalet is bigger n more spacious,so u all can sleep..er..more comfortably compared to downtown east
-we can't play games at downtown cos we're not allowed to make that much noise while at sentosa, we have the whole beach to ourselves and we can play dirty/water games.

there are many more reasons,but the biggest reasons r because sentosa is bigger n the places to carry out all the activities are there and plus day 2 we'll most likely be back here.transport and where to meet will be confirmed later.if u all have any objections,please tell me.thanks.

I hope you guys would stick together and support the "leaders" who try to unite the class and organise events for everyone. It is not an easy task, so I always admire those who put in extra time and effort to do so. I shan't name names here cos' I think it's a team effort.

I'm so proud to be in this class. Cassandra once told me that

"all the classes who don't like us actually helped us grow closer."

And I agree to it.

It is not easy to go by this year, I know. It seems like yesterday was just the registration. Everything just seems to fly pass us, and we seem not to know anything. Am I not right? We started out from being a class that is not that united, that hardly even communiciate during the orientation. I remember Magdalene nearly went bonkers taking care of our class because we simply refused to suggust ideas. Till today, I think and I'm really glad we bonded much more than other classes, even though we started out slow. Like the record of 773 photographes taken this year, is good enough for evidence sake. It is a blessing to be in this class and I'm thankful for every single one of you in my life.

We teared, we smiled and braved through the rain.
& I REALLY LOVE YOU GUYS!

I guess I want to do this on behalf of the girls because we were quite paiseh to shout this today! But, WE LOVE YOU MRS GN! :)

I had fun during the step up, though it was kind of like embarassing with my group being the last for the crossing the river game and like all of you looking at us. Hahaa. I hope you guys and gals enjoyed yourself and had fun! :)

Okay, now the drama thing. It was pretty well done for all 3 other groups I've watched. Well done! And keep improvising the whole drama kaes! Hahaha, I get to see you perform again next week!

Greetings everyone! I found some time and came here to say a few words.Those who are participating in the X country competition on 5 May 2006, perservere on and fight till the end! We will be supporting and rooting all the way during the competition! Those who are participating should give your 100%, and show other classes we can do better than them, if we lose, we have at least show our potential and not let us, the classmates down! Imagine if we're all quiet and cooperative during the Founders' Day Celebration, all the other classes follow. Just want you all to know..It always start with you before others.
